| Hi GPS I'm Phil and I found your group via the recent publicity you received in the media relating to your involvement in a recent Living TV programme. I've been researching the 'paranormal' or perinormal for over 35 years via books, investigations, TV and the internet. I used to be an unquestioning believer but I'm increasingly sceptical due to my on-going study of cognitive psychology, human perception and the constructive nature of memory. I've been a professional photographer, copywriter and graphic designer for most of my career with occasional periods in technical support for a couple of multi-nationals. I've travelled extensively, got as close to (the then) area 51 as it was possible to get, stalked Bigfoot in Washington State, spent many long hours scanning the waters of Loch Ness and done my fair share of cold nights and days in locations that are associated with ghosts. I've had experiences and seen things that many would deem unexplained and I'm open to the possibility that there may be things that science cannot yet adequately explain but my opinion is that the vast majority of paranormal experiences, ghost sightings, EVPs, UFOs and lake monster sightings are simply human misperception combined with a host of underlying biases. I look forward to discussing the subject on your forums and congratulate you on a great looking site. Occam's Monkey |

| Hello Phil, a very warm welcome to our forum. Wow, you've really done your share of investigating so far it looks, as if you are at the right spot here when it comes to discussing seemingly paranormal activity. We love a nice discussion. as you might have seen so far, we have a nice mix of sceptics and believers here, a lot of us are both. I would be really interested in reading about your journeys and your experiences about the paranormal. Maybe you can find some time to share them with us? Hope to read more of you soon, Hella _________________ Lead Investigator & Researcher - Devon: arwen@ghostfinder.co.uk

| Thanks for the welcome Arwen, I'm sure in the fullness of posting that I'll use my investigations, research and experiences to provide a personal perspective on the subjects under discussion - for now I'll learn to walk before I can float . Occam's Monkey |
