| Hello Jane, From me also a warm welcome to the forum. I hope you will enjoy reading our posts. I am afraid, that we can't help you when it comes to Ouija-boards. We don't use them. The dangers of Ouija's are higher than the benefit they could bring on an investigation. In fact, over 70% our cases in private households are related to Ouija-Boards. I feel, that I have to speak out a warning here. Ouija-Boards are no toys Inexperienced use can be extremely dangerous. We know cases about people being physically hurt, houses being haunted, even when the people have moved again and again, because an evil spirit/entity had latched itself on them. In most cases the activity started years after our clients have been dabbling around with a board. Ouija-Boards are no fun object, they are gadgets for opening a portal to the "other side" and people who are inexperienced and not even well trained mediums should definitely leave their hands of them. I am afraid, that certain TV shows suggest, that Ouija-Boards are great and harmless. Well, they are not.. a fact that those shows never really mention. But other than that, I hope you will enjoy your time here. Maybe you have your own stories to tell. Feel free to do so, we would love to read them. | Thankyou, and I appreciate your advice. I would never dapple with them except unless I was with someone very experienced. I used to watch 'Most Haunted' and I have to admit I found it somewhat 'tacky' and insulting to the paranormal side. I would be interested on anyone else's take on such programmes....I did however enjoy TAPS and thought they had some respect for the work they were doing and to what they were doing it to. I would love to experience a vigil though but being with a experienced team. Thankyou again for your honesty. I have taken note. |

| Hi Janey, Well, I think I can speak for all team members here, when I say that we are glad that there will be no further new series of Most Haunted. The only good thing about them to me personally is, that they caught the interest of the public for the subject paranormal in general. But that was about it. To me, they are a bunch of screamers, that are great in filming nostril shots. And anyone who knows me knows, that I certainly don't do screamers TAPS are different, their technical approach, their hunt for evidence, but also their debunking skills have set new standards to what a paranormal research team should do and know. GHI (Ghost Hunters International) have their roots with TAPS, so they work in a similar way. ghost adventures... well, I am not sure about them. They have, like all the others, great locations. What makes me suspicious is, that they have ALWAYS something happening. I also don't really like Zach (is it Zach?) with his hyped up approach, always over-enthusiastic. Watching him is extremely strenuous. Then there are the Extreme Ghosthunters. Also great locations, but man.... I've never seen a team with such a lack of respect. Great methods of provoking, but often not necessary. But when it comes to TV.... the audience wants entertainment. Common sense should tell people, that you cannot force activity to happen most of the time. So what do the producers do? They make them slam doors, move objects, edit material that way, that it looks as if an object disappears etc. So why do well established teams like the TAPS risk their good name? The answer is easy. The contract. I bet they have no way of controlling the editing and they can't just say: No we won't do that! ... it would be against the contract and in the worst case they could be done for that. They also wouldn't get any more money... hard to pay off your new Jag without the good income. The money they earn allows them a better standard of life, much better than that of an ordinary plumber. So I personally take those series as what they are meant to be... entertainment. Cheers, Hella _________________ Lead Investigator & Researcher - Devon: arwen@ghostfinder.co.uk

| Yep I have to agree with pretty much all you stated. Most Haunted captivated me at first, but very quickley I tired of their screaming, nostril shots and that prat of a bloke Yvette is married to is just brimming with stupidity and please dont even start me on their history researcher Lesley, is it???? talk about dramatic! personally i think she should stick with whips and chains if you get what i mean! LOL There was a good New Zealand one cannot remember the name of it but the tree kiwi folks ( 2 men and a woman) were pretty interesting and their stuff was impressive if it was genuine. |

| Its very interesting to see how alot (not all) of people get in to the paranormal is because of most haunted. all people that are in to the paranormal is because they have a high interest in it and alot realy get in to it cuz of most haunted so realy what yvette set out to do (to get people in to it) she has done exactly what she set out to do.
personaly i think Ghost Adventures is the best. Hella is right cuz they allways seem to get something but if u notice the people who go in to a location on a mono tone energy gets nothing as GA go in hyped up there giving off energy they get realy in to it they get alot. its like if u go in to a room full of kids with no energy they wont do much but if u go in all happy and hyper the kids will be happy and you get alot from them.
but GA and TAPS work differently taps scientific and GA have the kit but they use there own bodies as kit aswell. i could go on for hours about the difference but its allways interesting to see how other people work and how you can adapt to get the best evidence. i might write up a reveiw of the 2 shows and others and then people can put the own opinions in aswell.

| Thankyou again guys for the warm welcome. Steve... I have to admit I used to fast foward to the evidence part at the end of Ghost Hunt as that wasreally the most interesting part. Despite many opinions on TAPS I am a huge fan and thing the guys and gals on it are fantastic mainly because of their professionalism. I would love to fo the America and meet them....We can all dream I suppose he he. |
