PostSubject: Hello   Tue Sep 07, 2010 12:23 pm

I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say "Hi" and share a recent experience to get people's opinions.

Two nights ago my husband was woken by something pressing down on him (my husband works away during the week) and it freaked him out that much that he leapt out of bed and switched the light on. When the lights came on a dark shadow was right next to him and out of shock my husband threw his duvet at it. It vanished after that. My husband hasn't been able to sleep since and won't turn the lights out. The building is an old farmhouse (the building has new extensions) and he rents this with some of his colleagues. His room is downstairs in an old part of the building. There hasn't been anything else before or after and not much is known about the building.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? scratch

And to your story that you have posted , that seems a very interesting posts , could you tell us where this farmhouse is maybe we can dig up some history on it .

It sounds like the place might need taking a look at .

Hi Ian,

I have tried searching on the internet for anything in the area but not managed to find anything. The farmhouse is situated in Carreglefn, Anglesey. The only ghost reports I can find in the area are for Wylfa power station.

Hello Ostera,

First of all a warm welcome to our forum. cheers
There are a lot of things that you can do to find out more about the house and it's previous occupants.

First of all I would go to the land records office, where you should find names of all owners, including dates.
Then I would start contacting the local historic societies.
Whist you are waiting for an answer from them, look up on the internet where you might find information about persons or certain occasions. Sometimes they are not in the same archive... I had that Problem before, that some information I needed was not in Plymouth, but in Exeter.
I recommend, that you write down the file numbers, this way you will save lots of time.
Then take your list, go to the archives and start digging. Make sure you don't get side tracked Wink

Sounds like a lot of work? Well it is! What a Face But also very interesting.

Hope I could help you with that.

Hella

P.s.: Once you are finished with it, and you don't really want to keep it after a couple of years (I mean, the house is not yours, so the report wouldn't really have an emotional value for you), you could put it all in a neat folder and donate it to the local historic society. I am sure they would be really pleased about it.
