Just realised I havn't done this yet, so here goes...
Hi i'm Matt, I got introduced to all this at the awesome Bodmin night which was most excellent. It was a tiring weekend (1000 miles in 3 days) but definately joint highlight alongside photographing Glastonbury Tor from Wearyall Hill at dawn on the Monday.
As for me? Well my degree was Graphic design, but its hard to make money in that in the area I specialised in (vectored linear artwork) so I spent 4 years as a TEC (Technical Escalation Consulant) at the Tech Guys Head Office in Nottingham.
A TEC is basically a technical team leader - shout at the person on the phone & the call gets escalated to someone like I was. For the record, in store PC World Tech Guys have no technical training, they are normally doleites off the street. Head Office Tech Guys have to do an intensive 3 month technical course & pass exams at the end & the entire Head Office & staff is/are owned/employed by a different company. PC World pay for Head Office to offer support on their products. A weird setup yes. These guys do know their stuff, so ring rather than go instore if you have a problem lol.
Due to pants wages I moved down to Glastonbury & got into electronics, & am currently an electronics engineer for a company in High Why-come (i moved) working on access control & print release hardware. This is stuff like swipe cards, iris scanners, currently vein scanning technology. Within 2 years your credit card won't be a card, it'll be a section of your forearm...
Thats pretty much me. Dull - yes indeed but i'm actually pretty normal lol
