| Hey, Im 18 years old and study at brooksby melton college. I am studying Technical Production which means I work on the stage, near the stage and of course underneath the stage !!! I find the paranormal interesting and have done since I was 16. In this early stage of my interest, I am interested in the question of death and what happens after you die. I came to the conclusion that I really dont know the answer. Or cant find one. That's why Im here. I have started my own Paranormal "Team".(1 other person at the moment - my loyal girlfriend ) Our Website is coming soon: www.evp-nottingham.co.uk and the equipment is coming is a.s.a.p. I have already visited the Galleries of Justice the Caves of Nottingham and The Old Salutation Inn where me and my girlfriend felt a male presence in the last caveroom. We believe it was the Innkeeper who hanged himself after he could not keep up with the bills. (Wikipedia actually did confirm that) I am willing to travel around within reason. Originally I come from Germany and I moved just 10 months ago to Nottingham. The reason for that was my girlfriend and my hope of a good education. Anyway, what are your beliefs? Are you sceptic or completely believing in the paranormal? Reply Fabian xx |

| Hi Fabian
NIce to see you here in the forum , and i am looking forward to reading some of your posts .
You have asked what our beliefs are whether we are believers or sceptics , we are a bit of both , what we try and do is when people call us in our aim is to disprove everything that is happening , when we get to the point where we cannot find a logical reason or explanation for something then we can consider it being Paranormal , but paranormal does not always equal ghost , it is just something that cannot be explained , the opposite to normal .
So you have started your own group , i hope you know how much work has to go into running a group , and also the costs of buying all the equipment it can run away with you , we have experienced that at first hand , i wouldn't like to work out how much time and money we have spent on the running of G.P.S in the last three years .
So once again nice to have you here .

| Hello Fabian, A warm welcome and thank you for joining the forum! I thought that you might be from Germany (or Austria) by your name in the chat the other night. I'm from Germany myself and, like your girlfriend, joined my hubby's and Barri's team when G.P.S was founded. What used to be a general interest in the paranormal, turned out to be a passion. Feel free to ask any question, we are always willing to help and share our knowledge and experiences, also when it comes to questions about running a team. Personally I do believe in ghosts/spirits, but I am also a great skeptic and try to find natural explanations first, before I am willing to believe that I am dealing with something paranormal (not necessarily a ghost or spirit). If you take the time to look through our forum, you will find lots of interesting things, explanations, theories, technical facts and and and. I'll see if I can find the thread where you can read about the main things and problems you will come up with when you want to lead your own professional team. It would be interesting, how you found us, just by Google or did you hear about us somewhere else? Cheers, Hella Edit: Found the link to the thread: http://www.ghostfinderukforum.com/introduce-yourself-f2/loneley-investigator-t1292.htm#7300 _________________ Lead Investigator & Researcher - Devon: arwen@ghostfinder.co.uk

| First of all I thank you for this nice welcome posts:) I found G.P.S. via google I just typed in paranormal ghost group. It came up with the Society of Psychic Research. But they seemed to boring I think all of you know Most Haunted. I think some of it is fake and some of it isnt. I am wondering what you think about Dr. Ceeran O'Keffe the parapsychologist. Do you think he is a fake or setup by Most Haunted, or is there any way to trust him? He is my idol Fabian |

| Hi Fabian and welcome!
Lol, I am a member of the Society for Psychical Research! They are not ghost hunters, so no they are not exciting in the adrenaline sense. They focus very strictly on controlled scientific experiments into things like PSI, Telepathy and OBE's/NDE's etc. sometimes they do investigate hauntings (usually poltergeist cases) but not in the same way we would do.
As for Most Haunted, can't say I've ever watched a full episode!!

LOL Join the club, Rob.
I find MH painfully embarrassing.... the only reason to me why I might be willing to watch it, are their locations ... but that's about it to me. I have to admit,, that they brought the subject of the paranormal closer to the public, which is a big plus, but they also destroyed and damaged so many things, created a kind of ghost hunting hype and give a totally false impression about the do's and don'ts and also the dangers of methods, etc.
But this is not the place to talk about it, i think
Not sure what to make of Ceeran O'Keefe (did I actually spell that name right?) ... because I never manage to watch a full episode and I am always distracted by the useless screams and the permanent "did-you-hear-that's" , I find it hard to judge a participants abilities. Generally I think, that they have fairly able people there, but if one doesn't agree with their way of "work", the people are extremely quickly gone (that's a fact!) Who ever worked for MH has a stained reputation. _________________ Lead Investigator & Researcher - Devon: arwen@ghostfinder.co.uk

| Hello Fabian and welcome on here- I wont comment on here on about Most Unhaunted too much-all i can say its the most fake load of tripe on tv-how they get away with doing live shows for 4+ nights and their evidence is only tapping, people being touched, and the crew making noises in the background is a joke-if you type in Most Haunted and google it,theres quite a few short clips of Yvee making a hissing noise and getting seen by accident by the cameraman, then she asks did anybody hear that hissing noise!! classic..!! thats my 2pence worth!! Cerran seems too clever for that programme, but didnt he set Derek Acorah up for being fake? puzzles me.. |

| Hi Fabian welcome to G.P.S. I hope you enjoy your time with us in the forum...please post us some experiences, pictures, or story's if you have any? With regards to MH you must remember it is an entertainment show "no one wants to watch an empty room"!....as Matt our tec manager once said, he also said "how how do you make a empty room interesting"?......scream a lot?! All joking aside HM are still one of the most watched paranormal tv's shows in the uk and the moment as they are the only UK based show at the moment, shows like G.H.I, Taps, Paranormal State, are all USA based they enjoy a big following in the home country and in some part the UK as well, we must not forget the HM were and are still are that the forefront of any paranormal programing in England at this moment in time & are living TVS flag ship show and with the introduction of the live events this will only tighten there grip on the UK's lust for the paranormal.....and HM are riding the wave and have been doing this for well over 15 years what ever people think of the show love it? or hate it?...until the big 5 channels BBC1,BBC2, ITV, C4, & C5, start there own shows to try rival HM they will carry on getting bigger & bigger. _________________ Phil -Lead Investigator & Events/Media Co-ordinator phil@ghostfinder.co.uk

| Most Haunted started out really well. A phenomena in its own right, but over the years how many ghosts and haunted locations can they find??? Well as Phil said, it is an 'entertainment' show and I suppose every place they visit WILL have a ghost or several lol. I am sure that we would all become incensed by Kath, and Yvette's screaming if the MH creative team were not able to conjure up a few ghosts and elemental spirits from time to time. Take MH with a pinch of salt, BUT remember they did spawn the whole concept of entertaining the world with GHOSTS.. _________________ |
